The Profile Hunt

From WiKPA
Jump to: navigation, search

While one of the primary uses of the KPA is to make virtual backups of rigs you own or are using in the studio, many users have taken to the Pokemon approach: gotta get 'em all. Here are some helpful hints to hunt down every profile for every amp/cab you want to have at your instant disposal.

Official Rig Packs (Factory)

These rigs feature a number of popular name brands and models; however, the rig names are disguised to avoid any trademark violations. Some are easy enough to figure out, while others give absolutely no indication of what the actual rig being profiled is. The Factory Rigs page has a table that lists all the factory rigs with the amp, cab, and mic used. The table can be sorted on any column, which can help you to quickly find the profiles you were looking for.

The factory rigs can be restored via the following instructions: Restoring Stock Profiles. They can also be downloaded from the official Kemper downloads page.

The Rig Exchange

Kemper features an official "Rig Exchange". You must create your kemper-amps.com user profile and register your KPA before being able to download any rigs.

Note: The "Author" name is not necessarily going to be the same name as that person uses on the forum.

The Rig Exchange will only allow you to download one rig at a time via a link for each rig. It is much faster to use the official RigManager software. To download lots of rigs at once, you have to use a browser plugin such as DownThemAll or a more complicated web spider program.

Rig Manager

Kemper has released an official RigManager software, capable of searching the Rig Exchange and quickly demo'ing and importing profiles. See page for more details.
