→Musical Terms and Proper Nouns
== Musical Terms and Proper Nouns ==
* Note names are ''always'' capitalized (A, B, C, D, E, F, G). This prevents ambiguity with the article "a" and the flat symbol "b" when used in monospace blocks (however you should use [[Template:flat]] {{f}} otherwise).
* Use [[Template:flat]] {{f}}, [[Template:sharp]] {{s}}, and [[Template:natural]] {{natural}} where necessary(shorthand:<nowiki>{{b}} and {{s}}</nowiki>), but use # and b in tab or other monospace blocks. This makes for easier editing and retains the monospace-nature of the font.* There are currently no double/Double and half flat/sharp symbols. Use multiple symbols for double/tripleflat are available: {{db}}, etc. Spell out quarter-tones{{ds}}, {{hb}}, and {{hs}}.
* Specific keys use a capitalized note name and type - A Minor, C Major, A{{b}} Harmonic Minor.
* Specific chords use a capitalized note name but lowercase type - A minor, C major, A{{b}} diminished.
