You'll notice you only encountered 3 patterns for each group of 3 notes:
* <tt>|o|-|o|-|o|</tt>, or ''whole, whole''. I sometimes call this one ''stretch'', because it requires you to stretch a bit.
* <tt>|o|-|o|o|-|</tt>, or ''whole, half''. I sometimes call this one ''ring'', because it uses is most comfortable using the ring fingeron the middle note.* <tt>|o|o|-|o|-|</tt>, or ''half, whole''. I sometimes call this one ''middle'', because it uses is most comfortable using the middle fingeron the middle note.
