The '''Minor Blues Scale''' uses the same notes as the Minor Pentatonic scale, but substitutes the 5th for a minor 6th. This scale is enharmonic to the Minor Pentatonic scale, but uses the 5th of that scale as the tonic note here. Comparing the two scales, the Minor Pentatonic feels more stable, with less tension on the 5th as the Minor Blues has on the m6. While a phrase in the Minor Pentatonic could easily sustain or end on the 5th, the Minor Blues will feel more compelled to continue to the minor 7th or back down to the 4th.
