Play some intervals on the 1st and 2nd string, then try to play those same intervals on the 2nd and 3rd strings. Practice Figure 1. Once you are comfortable with the fingering, play in time with a metronome and try to increase your speed.
Play figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Start without a metronome, then use it and start at a slow tempo and work up speed. Practice descending as well as ascending.
Play groups of 3 notes from the C Major scale up and down the 3rd string, in time with a metronome. Try to learn all the note names.
