# Parallel motion can only be used if the current and destination intervals are imperfect.
If "perfect/imperfect" is confusing in describing the intervals, see the table below. Essentially, anything other than the perfect 4th and 5th intervals is imperfect. If the two notes are the same note (unison or Perfect 1st, octave or Perfect 8th), this is also considered perfect.
